New Nissan India Magnite GEZA Edition sub-4 meter compact suv launched at Rs 7.39 lakh


The Indian subsidiary of the Japanese multinational automaker Nissan, Nissan Motor India, recently launched the Magnite GEZA edition in India, starting at a price of Rs 7.39 lakh. The company introduced this new edition with a few additional features to boost sales of this sub-compact SUV. The new Magnite GEZA Edition is another limited edition from the brand, featuring a few updates on the interior but no mechanical alterations to the drivetrain.

Nissan India offers the new Magnite GEZA special edition with a 9-inch touchscreen entertainment system that supports both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moreover, the car is equipped with JBL speakers, ambient lighting with app-based controls, a rearview camera with trajectory recommendations, and beige seat upholstery.

Apart from these additions, the SUV remains largely unchanged from the previous model, with no modifications to the powertrain.

Speaking of the powertrain, the Nissan Magnite is still available with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 72 Ps and 96 Nm of peak torque. Another engine option for the Magnite is a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 100 Ps and a maximum torque of 160 Nm.

In February of this year, Nissan also added additional safety features to the Magnite, such as a tyre pressure monitor, hill start assist, traction control system, hydraulic brake assist, and vehicle dynamic control. The company has also increased the price of the 2023 Magnite by Rs 20,500. With this update, the top-of-the-line variant, XV PRE, received a range of new safety features, including ISOFIX child seat anchorages, 360-degree cameras, anti-theft alarms, speed-sensing door locks, impact-detecting locks, and more.

In July of last year, prior to this model, the company launched the RED Edition of the Magnite, starting at Rs. 7,86,500 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Magnite RED Edition is based on the popular Magnite XV variant, and the available variations are Magnite XV MT RED Edition, Magnite Turbo XV MT RED Edition, and Magnite Turbo XV CVT RED Edition. The Magnite RED Edition offers two monotone color choices: Onyx Black and Storm White.

As for the changes, the RED Edition distinguishes itself from other models with a unique red accent on the front grille, front bumper cladding, wheel arch, and body side cladding. The interior features a center console with a red accent, a door side armrest with a luxury red motif, and a red dashboard. The major design upgrades include bold body graphics, a tail door garnish, and a large RED Edition-specific insignia. The RED Edition retains the R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED fog lamps, and LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) found in the normal top-spec model.

In other Nissan news, in February, Nissan announced plans to introduce an MPV based on the Renault Triber in India. The company stated that this upcoming 7-seater MPV will be based on the Renault-Nissan joint alliance’s CMF-A+ platform. Once launched, the Nissan MPV will offer similar features and drivetrain options as the Renault Triber in India.
