This engine is paired with the Suzuki Hybrid Vehicle System (SHVS) mild hybrid unit that assists the petrol engine during hard acceleration. The other powertrain on the Hyryder is a strong hybrid, which consists of a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated, 4 cylinder petrol engine (91 Bhp-122 Nm) running on the Atkinson’s cycle, and an electric motor that makes 78 Bhp-144 Nm. This combination has a combined output of 114 Bhp, and the strong hybrid variants of the Hyryder get a CVT automatic gearbox as standard fare.
