Another Ola S1 Pro owner shares images of broken front suspension at 35 kmph


Recently, we came across an incident where the front suspension of an Ola S1 Pro electric scooter. The front suspension broke while riding at the speed of 35 kmph. The lad who was riding the scooter was admitted to ICU due to injuries. Ola did come up with an official response in this matter and told that their preliminary investigation has revealed that this was a case of very high impact road accident. After the reports of this accident went viral, we now have another customer who has come forward with pictures of his Ola S1 pro scooter with a broken front suspension.

The owner of this Ola S1 Pro electric scooter had shared images of his scooter on Twitter. He recalls the incident in a post that he shared on Team-bhp. He calls himself the impacted user. He calls himself as one of the few who believed in Bhavesh’s Pitch and trusted the Product even before it was launched. The accident happened on November 10 last year. The user had picked her daughter back from school. He was almost near his home in Bengaluru when this incident happened. He was riding through a service lane to avoid traffic. The roads had few potholes in it and he was carrying a speed of 35 kmph.

Suddenly he felt like loosing balance and the front wheel suddenly buckled in. He lost control on the scooter and as it was an unexpected incident, the rider’s upper body hit the handle bar and his daughter hit him on the back. The rider was wearing a proper helmet and even the front suspension broke, both of them were thrown on to the road. He felt like something heavy crashed on to his chest. He mentions that it took him few seconds to start breathing normally. He sat on the side of the road and dialed his wife to come and pick him up.

After the incident, he called Ola’s customer care and explained the situation to them. He reached to Ola Bangalore group and the news reached Ola Service Head and Senior Management. He was satisfied with the way Ola’s team handled the issue. They got in touch with the customer and took the scooter. The fixed the issue and returned it back to the customer within 24 hours. After the incident, the service manager even made a courtesy visit along with the vehicle to ensure that everything was fine. Although, his issue got fixed, the customer is still worried about the design of the front suspension on scooter. This is not the first time, Ola electric scooters have come in news.

After the first incident, Ola has come up with explanation. They have said that they have more than 1.5 lakh vehicles on the roads and until now, only a few isolated cases of suspension breaking have come up. Customers who think that there is a problem with the suspension of their Ola S1 Pro can get it checked through the service network of Ola. When the scooter was initially launched in the market, it had several issues. The scooter had several software glitches which were eventually fixed over updates.
