Tata Punch Camo Edition launched at Rs 6.85 lakh


Another day, another special edition car from Tata Motors! The fast-growing homegrown carmaker of India has launched a special Camo edition for the high-selling Punch. Much like the Camo edition introduced in Tata Harrier a couple of years ago, the new Tata Punch gets a special green-based paint scheme and a few visual tweaks in and out.

The new Tata Punch Camo is available in four variants – Adventure, Adventure Rhythm, Accomplished and Accomplished Dazzle, the prices of which are as follows:

  • Punch Adventure MT – Rs 6.85 lakh
  • Punch Adventure AMT – Rs 7.45 lakh
  • Punch Adventure Rhythm MT – Rs 7.20 lakh
  • Punch Adventure Rhythm AMT – Rs 7.80 lakh
  • Punch Accomplished MT – Rs 7.65 lakh
  • Punch Accomplished AMT – Rs 8.25 lakh
  • Punch Accomplished Dazzle MT – Rs 8.03 lakh
  • Punch Accomplished Dazzle AMT – Rs 8.63 lakh

Starting from the changes on the outside, the Tata Punch Camo gets the same Foliage Green paint scheme, which is already available in the Nexon as a standard paint scheme. For the roof, there are two dual-tone options to choose from – Piano Black and Pristine White.

In the top-spec Accomplished Dazzle trim, the Punch Camo gets front fog lamps, projector headlamps, daytime running LEDs and charcoal black 16-inch alloy wheels, but the Punch Camo misses out on roof rails. The Punch Camo also gets adorned with silver skid plates at the front and rear and Camo badges on the front fender.

In the cabin, the Tata Punch Camo comes with military green inserts on the dashboard, along with 3D-printed camouflage fabric for the seat upholstery.

The top-spec trims do get features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, cruise control, reverse camera, push start-stop button and driver seat height adjustment. The instrument console misses out on the 7-inch TFT screen which is available only in the top-spec Creative variant of the regular version of the Punch.

There are no changes under the hood, as the Tata Punch Camo continues with the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine from the standard version. Also available in other Tata offerings like the Tiago, Tigor and Altroz, this 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 86 PS of maximum power output and 113 Nm of torque. Both the transmission choices of a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT are offered in all the variants of the Punch Camo.

Tata Punch has a four-star rating

As per the official G-NCAP, the base variant of the Tata Punch was tested. The base variant comes with dual-front airbags, ABS and ISOFIX anchors for mounting the child seat. The upcoming Tata Punch has scored 16.45 out of 17 in the adult safety rating. For child safety, the Punch scored 40.89 out of 49. In comparison, the Tata Altroz (which shares its Alfa platform with the Punch) managed 16.13/17 in the adult safety rating and 29/49 in the child safety rating. The Mahindra XUV300 managed 16.42/17 and 37.44/49, while the Tata Nexon bagged 16.06/17 and 25/49 points in adult and child safety ratings respectively.
